What other message boards do you use?

I consider OH my primary but I also look at these 2. Even while I have some issues with how OH handles email notifications I like the format the best. I realize it is a purely subjective choice. In my experience (just 3 or 4 months) the people are usually helpful and supportive on all of them. As they say YMMV.

Hi Jim,

I don't know how much weight you have to lose, but there is a sub group called Light Weights.  If you have 150 or less lbs to lose (I think), then you are considered a light weight.

There are DS, RNY, LAP Band people - it's a mix of everyone.  The rules are 'if you can't be supportive and helpful, then don't post' - they don't tolerate jerks.  Which can be a breath of fresh air if you hang around the various DS boards for any length of time.  Some of the DS veterans act like they are card carrying members of Fight Club or something...

I do check into the proboards every day.  There is great info there also.

You are right about some other forums, having jerks. Some vets think they deserve some kind of medal for having the surgery longer ago than others. Sickening. Obesity Help is the most friendly forum. Well from my experience anyway.

Thanks for the info. I guess I would be a light weight even though I dont feel like one! My goal is a 100 pounds.

At the same time that the veterans can be a little *****ly, they are full of good info and experience.  Experience and truths that you can't find with a surgeon or a NUT, from what I have seen so far.

You can catch and eat a pufferfish, as long as you are very careful...
