I really dislike endocrinologists
Hi all,
today i went to endo #4, and I think will be my last. A year after my DS, i had a thyroidectomy and i decided that i didn't want to take synthroid but t4/t3 comound. well the ds/thyroidectomy is quite the combination to take care of, and i do it myself. i self dose and my pcp is ok with that, as long as i feel good he treats me first, my blood work 2nd. First since I am only 2 patients with the ds in my state, NO ONE understands "you are going to die" with the surgery you had. "why would you do that to yourself" "that is a ridiculous amount of vitamins (hahah I only take the 50K vit d/day to keep my vit d level at about 70 so can you imagine if it was like some patients that need 100-150K?) you take that much thyroid medication? that is a ridiculous amount-I am like this guy is a fool, i mean come one.... that endo would have lost it. why are you taking zinc, who told you, you have malabsorption issues, have you ever been tested....I can say that my endo appt today was the first time i actually was going to walk out.....i mean geesh.....I guess just a vent..... thanks for listening....
I've had endos I LOVED and endos I hated...depending on all sorts of things.
I'm sorry you are having issues with an endo but if your PCP is comfortable with what you are doing, that works.
Just curious, what state do you live in?
Liz
