I can't believe there are only 6 days till my surgery. Even though I will have to do clear liquids after surgery I am so excited to get to the beginning of the "end". I have lost 8 pounds in 8 days. I feel a bit weak but I think that is to be expected. My biggest fear of surgery is gas and diarrhea. I hope it doesn't become a problem for me.

Keep up your nourishment now, your body needs that for healing later. Don't get to the point of weakness. ALL THE BEST!!

I bet you are excited!! I did not have to much gas and diarrhea a week out of surgery. It was just the first few days. Just stick to the diet.

Congrats. Everyone is different but at 3 weeks out I am not having any bowel problems. First two days back from the hospital were runny but since then no problems.

My Doc has me on a post op program from clear liquids, to regular liquids, puree, and then soft food. I realized into week 2 that having too much milk was giving me gas. Now that I have cut back on the milk my gas issues are minor. I still make strained soup with milk but I have eliminated the S.F. Carnation breakfast made with a cup of milk. Yogurt doesn't bother me at all.

Be strong. I made pre op much worse than I had too. Once I was post op all that worry left and I only had to deal with real things not imagined things.
