Stall already...sigh?
I lost 20 pounds one week post op. I know a lot of that was prolly water. Since then I have fluctuated between 20-22 pounds up and down. I am three weeks post op. So for two weeks I have not lost anything. I am right on the money with my water around 64 ounces a day, protein shakes @ 3 a day, all my vits and calcium taken, and eating only tuna, eggs, cottage cheese and yogurt. I only eat an ounce at a time about three- four times a day. I am getting in about 120-150 protein a day.
I am doing everything almost perfect. Yet, I am already at a stall second week out. I know there have been a million of these posts. I know everyone gets a stall but this early? It is frustrating. I know I hardly have anything going in yet I am not losing. I need to stay off the damn scale. It is an obsession with me to weigh every day. Sad. Two weeks with no loss just up and down two pounds?????
Just venting but still curious as to why so early out with only protein shakes and four ounces of food a day, am I not losing?
This is NOT a stall. Your metabolism is just playing catch-up. I only lost 21 pounds my first month. I had lost 146 pounds at one year out. Relax and let your DS do its magic.

I am 5 weeks out, and have lost 35 pounds since surgery day. At one point, I was losing 2-3 pounds a day, but over the last week, I only lost 1 pound, so I think I have hit my first plateau. Be proud that you are showing the discipline to eat right. I have yet to eat any sugars or bad starches, and seem to have avoided most of the bad side effects I have read people having when they eat poorly, and you must be avoiding the really bad side effects as well. Losing 35 every month was unsustainable for me, and losing 20 pounds a month is unsustainable for you - that would mean losing 240 in a year! Don't worry about carefully measuring your protein, listen to your stomach, if it is grumbling, it may need more food/water so you don't go into starvation mode. Just keep doing what you are doing, work on exercising right, and appreciating the new you!
Yeah, I have not really had any bad side effects. The only time I had an issue was one day I ate refried beans from taco bell twice during the day. I was so bloated that night I could not finish all of my protein drink and I felt miserable. It literally bloated my stomach up. The next morning it was gone. I have stayed away from them since. My latest thing now is deviled eggs. My mother made me a tray full. Now I just go in and grab one and eat it. That is my ounce. it has fat and protein in it. I love them. A quick perfect sized meal for my tiny tummy. No dehydration and so far I am rarely hungry because I just eat an ounce in between shakes three to five times a day whether I am hungry or not. I space them out. I drink all day. I have never missed my vits. I am rocking this surgery so far and proudly so. I am such an OCD person when it comes to stuff like this. LOL. I refuse to go back into the hospital. I will do it right. =)
Congrats on your weight loss!!
It's not a stall till you have gone 30 days without losing.
I stalled at 2 months and didn't lose for 6 or 7 weeks. It's still a little crazy, the way my weight zigs and zags.
Your body will be adjusting all through your journey. When you stall, you usually lose inches instead of pounds so go try on some clothes and see if they don't fit better.
Follow the rules, take your vits, and stay off the scale. Weigh yourself no more than once a week. It really will come off. Just not all of it by next Wednesday :-)
