How do I tell...

if my hernia surgery was "successful"?  The bump is back, though in a different place and not as big, yet.  And I'm having pain around my belly button.

I see Dr. K. on Wednesday, I was just wondering if anyone had any insight.  I'm freaking out right now because it seems like the surgery didn't work and I am soooo disappointed...

If the bump that you had was gone after the repair then it would be considered a successful repair.

If now you have a bump in a different spot it could mean that you have gotten another hernia in a different spot.

You should be able to tell, Lay down on your back and pickup your head and a bit of your shoulders. If your new "hernia" protrudes when you do that it very likely is a hernia.

It can happen to anyone, your best bet is, go see your PCP and have it checked out.

Good Luck

I can feel it lying down, I don't even have to move.  I can also feel it while I'm standing up.  It's about the size of a baseball.  Dammit.

I have a followup with my surgeon tomorrow.  I guess I'll find out then.  cheeky
