Huneypie, what's the brand name of your protein powder and where do you get it? There's someone on the Facebook group that was asking about protein coffee.

Would you just rewrite your recipe and instructions in UK terms?

Ha ha - anyone would think that I look here regularly look here!! LOL mail

What I had yesterday was just a scoop of protein in a glass of full fat milk (200-250ml).  It really didn't fill me at all though.  I happen to have already 'translated' your recipe though.  Here you go:

Make some coffee

In a blender bottle with wire ball, add 60ml of double cream and 60ml of cool water, or 120ml of milk, a teaspoonful of sweetener, a couple of dashes of cinnamon and a heaped scoop of vanilla protein powder.

Shake for about 5 seconds to blend

Pour the protein slurry into a huge mug and fill to the top with coffee

If you are watching your fat grams, substitute unsweetened soy or skimmed milk.

Always add hot liquid to cold protein slurry to keep the protein from clumping.

I streamlined it a little! kiss

Good protein available here is PHD Protein available from Amazon with free delivery http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_nr_p_76_top?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck% 3Aphd+protein%2Cp_76%3A419158031&keywords=phd+protein&ie=UTF 8&qid=1367674484&rnid=419157031

Or Whey Protein from Holland and Barrett which currently has a sale http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/categories.asp?cid=14 1&searchterm=whey%20protein&rdcnt=1

The PHD stuff is the only one I've tried and that one was yummy (banana flavor).  I've not tried the Holland and Barrett stuff but that stuff's hydrolized so more absorbable (which I'm sure you know).  Even in the penny sale (on 'til May 17th) you pay about 10% more for 10% less, but H&B is a chain in the high street and it's possible to buy smaller quantities (no trials though and only the big stuff is in the sale - reviews seem to be favorable on it though).

Having read this http://www.dsfacts.com/protein.html I now understand why you encouraged me to have more eggs when I was early out. You clearly don't need the link but it may help the other person.

BTW thank you for all your support - you are doing such an important job helping us stay healthy.

Just noticed the protein recipes on DSfacts with syrup.  You can get SF syrup from Starbucks.  Shipping for such a heavy item makes online ordering too expensive.  You may have to insist a little that Starbucks sell you the SF syrup as they usually only sell the full sugar stuff.  They charge £7.50 and ring through 2 full sugar syrups on the till (the full sugar is half the size).  They have vanilla or hazelnut (I only like their vanilla).

Hungry day today.  I've had a few coffees with plenty of heavy cream in an attempt to curb it and I think I shouldn't have any more oil, if you know what I mean!! ;-). I drank lots of water too... I guess I had these days pre-DS and the damage was way worse.  I felt so close to the promised land this time... oh well I'll put my hope in protein shakes (shouldn't be too long to wait before I can get hold of them).

S Protein bar 32
S Strawberries & heavy cream
S 2.5 PB Cookies 25
L Chicken Kiev & beans 33
D Southern fried chicken 35
S Cheesecake 5

I know what you mean. I've had the munchies all day. It didn't help that the grandbabies were here eating us out of house and home.
