I was curious has anyone had experience with Dr. Meilahn at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia?

Thanks

I don't recognize the name as a known DS surgeon. Do you know where he/she learned to do the DS?

I've never heard of him, or of anyone else at Temple doing the DS in over 7 years on this and other DS forums. The best list of DS surgeons is at dsfacts.com, though there may be some newer ones not listed there. On this website, a surgeon can include whatever they want on their pages and it ain't necessarily so.

I wish dsfacts.com listed what revisions each surgeon does as well. Just thought I'd throw that in incase anyone has connections to those on that site.

I've never heard of that doctor (nor any other surgeon at Temple) doing any DS.

if you live in or around philadelphia, you've seen the billboards advertising baratric surgery at crozer, temple, einstein, to name a few.  to my knowledge the only delaware valley ds surgeons are at abington hospital.  bonanni and dr g.

Wish I'd seen this sooner. Dr. Meilahn performed my vertical sleeve last week. He does perform the DS for high BMI patients (over 50). He and I discussed it a lot and at first I was going to do the DS. I decided not to but he already told me that if I don't seem to be losing enough weight with the sleeve then he will revise to DS if I want. His staff is also pretty familiar with the DS. His staff is great. He's quirky, introverted, plain-spoken but nice.

Also wanted to note that at the initial seminar Dr. Meilahn discussed the DS along with the other surgery options, so its not something I had to bring up. He does do it and I'm not sure why he isn't listed as doing it.
