I agree this is a wonderful post.  Congrats.  I always say the only regret I have is that I didn't have my DS done sooner.  Perhaps I wouldn't have missed so much of my life in my teens and 20's, but guess what...I'm sure making up for it now!  I would do again and twice on Sunday :) 

I originally had lapband because I was afraid to try something else.  I learned that I had made a mistake, but I thought I was just a failure and I was embarrassed and ashamed of myself.  Until I learned that the lapband wasn't the right tool for someone like me who was over 300lbs.  I just thank God and my primary doctor for suggesting that I look into other options.   

Thanks for coming back and posting Charlie! It's good to hear from people who have had their DS for a while and have had success with it!
