DS surgery date set - ADVICE??

Hello!  I have set my DS surgery date and am so excited to be having the surgery so I can be on my way to meeting my health goals.  I am just wondering if there are any tips or advice anyone can give me from their experiences.  I would like to know your real experiences.  Please don't sugar coat anything.  I want to know what to expect and about how long I will truly be down and out.  How long did it take you to feel "normal" and be able to have enough energy to get back to taking care of the kids, working, etc.?  I have read through many of the blog posts here but would love some open and honest responses if anyone is willing to share.
