It's been a while - how to start again
Hi All,
it has been years since I posted. I am 6 years post op and lost down to 160 I am stable at 170 to 180 depending on the time of month. I am so much happier and successful and grateful. Here is the thing I never reached 140 and I just quit smoking last week. I really need some tips on kick starting my weight loss / avoid weight gain. I just received an amazing job offer ( chance of a lifetime) and want to lose a bit extra for that first day in 6 weeks.
Apologies for asking an old question again but unfortunately being the only DS where I am the information is not readily available from my surgeon.
many thanks
What worked for me was a week of low carbing and little eating to get me jump started. It's white knuckle dieting that week but it did kick me into loosing mode. I drank 1 more protein coffee than my usual 3 and ate very sparingly as I was on a business trip and couldn't get to a lot of my usual munchies. I was also walking much more that week. I think I dropped 5 very stubborn pounds that week and have since dropped a couple more not being near as strict.

So you have 3 protein drinks every day??? What is your typical eating schedule? I am 3 years out, last time I went to Dr. he said he was disappointed in my WL. I lost 135, I'm somewhat satisfied with where I am, I don't want to get too skinny and that scares the crap out of me!! I have friends that IMO have lost way too much and I don't feel they look healthy. Because I have Ulcerative Colitis my doctor left me with longer than most in case I have issues later and some of my intestines need to be removed. My body literally came to a stand still once I lost 135 which was at 11 months post-op. Same 5 pounds either way since then. I would like to lose another 20 but no matter what I do it just doesn't come off.

Im working off a little regain myself. My lowest was 150 (Im 6' tall and muscular) and I looked unwell. I gained up to 160 and was happy there. Then I had an injury that laid me up for over 5 months, and quickly gained another 10lbs and lost muscle mass. Im working off that additional 10lb gain. I went back to VERY low carb and upped my protein. Im aiming for around 75g net carbs or less per day (my sweet spot for losing) and Im back in the gym working my butt off. Ive lost 5lbs, but regained some muscle in just about 3 weeks.
