Hello everyone, I am starting my process for a new life and have a few questions. Has anyone dealt with United Health Care for their DS surgery?  Has anyone had Dr Thomas Chau out of Milwaukee WI for their DS surgery? If anyone could share their experience with either of these I would appreciate it.

I have United Health Care.  I had no problems at all.  I had to do the usuals - psych eval, nutrition visit, 6 month supervised weight loss.  However, they approved me by month 3 and I didn't have to finish that piece of it.  I haven't had them deny any of my bills or my requested labs so far.  I also believe that if I play my cards right, they will cover all plastics, except for arms - as long as the doctor can confirm it is medically necessary.

Thank You Lisa! I called them when I was thinking of getting RNY and they covered that but wasnt sure on the DS.

Sleeved in 2007 UHC paid no problems.  Approval took about 3-4 weeks

DS-revision in 2013 UHC paid no problems.  Approval took less than 1 week. 

No 6 month doctor supervised diet either.  =)  Was SUPER STOKED about that one!!!

I have UHC and was approved within 2 wks. Didnt need Supv diet before either. It all depends on your specific plan.
