Just have a few questions.

what is a typical weight loss post surgery. Right now I am at about 2 lbs a day is that ok?

When can we start having cheese again? Right now I am on stage 2.

Been having thoughts of food that I would never have had before, ie. crab cake ( Grew up in NJ and I hate seafood) and eggplant parm lol. Figure it is just from not having real food for about a month now.

That is all I can think of right now thanks for your help.

I think you are doing great Michele....I too craved and still crave seafood.  was craving protein like I never did before post op....I missed food so much. I had cottage cheese about 3-4 weeks out. Then cheese cubes about 5 weeks out...I still snack on them at work....I love cheese! I craved crab legs too..So now I go to the local store and buy alot of it and drench it in butter. I alsocraved eggplant too...and I am not an egg plant eater, lol. I remember the hubby pureed tuna salad for me......it was heaven;) I love my tuna fish.

I started out losing about 5-7 pounds a week for  a couple of months, then slowed to 2-3 pounds a week around month 4.  At nearly 6 months I am down to about 1-2 pounds a week. Total down just shy of 6 months is 103 pounds.

I started back to the gym at 3 months and do a lot of weight lifting to build my muscle mass, so I am not worried about the slow down.  I feel like I need the added muscle mass (and weight) for the long run. It  burns more calories plus it fills in a some of my loose skin!  My clothing size has kept getting smaller even as the weight loss slows.

Everyone is different when it comes to dairy.  It took me a few months, but now I can eat cheese and yogurt with no issues. My favorite snack is string cheese and almonds.

If something you eat disagrees with you - just wait a week or so and try it again.  As you heal, the variety you can eat with increase.

Good luck!
