Crunch Crunch...

So for some odd reason I have this texture issue with foods. When I eat a cheese stick I get grossed out by the texture 3/4 in... So then I have to nibble on a cracker to get rid of the texture issue.. However I know that my whole wheat cracker has carbs. I need a good crunchier snack... any suggestions?

I have tried fried pork skins and right now they seem to make my GERD worse so I have had to stop those.

Medication for my texture issue? no I did not know there was such a thing. I just figured I was weird.

Medication for GERD. Yes I am on Omeperazol 20 mg twice a day but at this point I don't think it is enough. I chew Tums twice a day and I take Zantac first thing in the morning and right before bed. I hope it passes soon becuase it is very uncomfertable.

I just read something today about a lady that uses charcole tablets to soak up the

acid, and it was the onley thing that helped her.  I would think you could find them in

a  health food store.

Veggies.  Great crunch, almost a free food for us.  I also make popcorn (but only if you are like 6+ weeks out).  And I used to make my own tortilla chips from low carb tortillas, Id chop them up and then pan fry in bacon grease or oil.  YMMV on those though, some people have a LOT of issue with the flour in them.  Also Kale chips (just season and bake).  And cheese crisps and pepperoni chips (microwave until crispy).  Oh, and bacon.  I eat a LOT of bacon now.

Pork Rinds. plain, no flavoring unless you add it yourself.

For some, It's an acquired taste.  I sprinkle Frank's Hot Sauce on mine sometimes.   I also use them as dippers.

You get a teeny bit of protein, but not much else.

I, too, have a texture issue.  Can't tolerate jello - it creeps me out just thinking about it, unless is soft and melty.  And, if I think about the sound that the marshmallows in Lucky Charms make when you bit into them, I get shivers.  For the longest time I couldn't stand to bite into a bean (like pinto bean or chili beans and such).  So, I totally understand the texture thing.  I really miss having crunchy things also.  Finally, for once in my life, that cheese dip stuff would probably be a good thing to eat, but what the heck does one eat it with.  Sighhhhhhhhhh.

I've heard that the microwaved pepperoni makes a fantastic crunchy snack.  And making cheese crisps is a good thing.  Cucumber slices can give you a nice little crunch too.  There is a snack product called Just the Cheese snacks (you can Google them or find them on Amazon) and I think they have all kinds of protein chips - Wonderslim Snack O's and Bariwise Protein Crinkles come to mind.  Again, I think you can probably Google them.  My may have more carbs than you want to spend, but they do have good protein also and the reviews look pretty decent.

If you find something crunchy that works well for you, please share what it is.

Love the Wonderslim chips.  I eat celery with peanut butter or soft cheeses.  A little bit of popcorn now and again.  I make these crackers from ground up sunflower seeds and parmesan cheese which are high in protein and no carb - stinks up the house, though, and my husband always protests! I also found some Wheat Thins flatbread crackers which are fairly low carb for a mainstream brand. I eat them with pate spread on top.

I get grossed out by some soft foods like puddings - and I bought a bunch of them before my tastes changed. I frequently get "that" feeling while I am eating something and just have to stop! Lately just plain chicken is doing it to me. It keeps changing...
