What do you think?

I love dairy too but I know I am sensitive to it as it makes my joints hurt so I am cutting back now that I can get my protein in a little better. I wish I could eat dairy but have had an allergy to it since I was a little girl. I was hoping also that my surgery would change that a little. Maybe by giving it up now my weight loss won't slow down.

Hollykim, listen to Irishnurse for she speaketh sense.  Whilst 12lbs is a tad behind where I was at 5 weeks out it's not that far.  I think I'd lost maybe 14lbs by that point.  As a revision and a lightweight things seem to move slowly, but hang in there - you'll get there!! ;-)

Thanks, this makes me feel much better. I thought I was going to have to demand a redo!

Should I still eat like I am malasorbing with lots of protein and fat?  and lots of cals. i get from 800-1000 cals a day right now. 60 is fats and 80-100 gms protein a day on a good day.

Holly, 800 to 1000 cal per day is not enough for us.  Your loss may have stopped because you aren't eating enough.

I wondered about that too. was eating every 2 hours protein dense plus shakes. am trying to eat every hour starting today to see how much more I can get in.  I was afraid if I wasn'rt malabsorbing properly, too much would make me gain. thNKS

I consider cottage cheese a protein.  I use full fat, and it is one of my staples,as are  full fat milk and heavy cream.

I don't really count carbs, because the way I eat, I know I'm not getting anything over the top.  At four years out, I kind of have the carb counts of many foods in my head, and my personal rule is I don't regularly eat or buy anything with more than 7 grams of carbs.

I read labels when I shop, and if I have to break the rule, I consider other nutritional values( via Nutrition Facts on the container) before I put it in my cart.

I'm a protein freak!
