Vitamins & Nausea

In doing research for the DS I've noticed that the iron vits should be taken on an empty stomach. Waiting at least an hour for Caffeine, eggs, dairy, etc...

l Have always had a sensitive disposition with taking vits as They make me nauseas if taken without food. Am wondering what others do to work around that particularly for the first vits of the day that include iron pills...

Thoughts?

I don't do dairy....not many people can from what I see. If you need to take your vitamins with food....I would use pudding. SF pudding saved me for sure!

I take mine on meat and vitamin C.  No caff, no dairy, I was told.

And I take mine at night, right before bed.

A trick some of us used is to start the iron very slowly at first. Take 1 capsule the first week away from calcium, dairy, eggs, whole grains, and caffeine. You can have some citrus fruit with it. There's nothing really magic about an empty stomach and I would be more comfortable with a little fruit or luncheon meat.  Anyway, take one capsule a day the first week and see how you do. Add a second capsule the 2nd week and so forth until you can handle the full dose.  I didn't know this tric****il after I tried to take the whole dose the first time I took iron and it made me sick too. I adjust Vitalady's schedule to fit me and I take my iron in the mid to late afternoon away from all other vitamins and minerals. I give it an hour on either side of the iron with no other stuff including the food.
