Help & Accountability...
Hi fellow Losers! :)
I had WLS (the DS) 9 years ago this month. It was the best decision I made - then and now. However, over the course of the last 4 years I have lost my way and gained 20 pounds back. I am in a size 16 and I desire to lose that extra 20 pounds I have on and get back to 186 and possibly 170/175. I know that the DS will work for me if I work with it, but working with it has been difficult the last 4 years.
So... I am here at my 9 year weightloss surgery anniversary! Asking for help, asking for support and needing to "confess" to someone about my 20 pound weight gain (starting weight 309/current weight 206/lowest weight 186).
I really need to "get back to basics" and I could use ANY help possible. Remind me what I can eat, tell me what I need to be doing, anything to get me going in the right direction.
I can be of assistance too... If you have any questions for a veteran at the 9 year mark I am happy to answer any/all questions.
Thanks for any and help support!
Lots of protein, lots of fat, as few carbs as possible. Avoid fruit too. And water, water, water.
Meat, sausage, bacon, chicken, eggs, cottage cheese are great protein sources
A lot of people cook EVERYTHING in butter and add it wherever possible to up the fats
There are great posts here and the bites, vites and exercites thread each day gives a fantastic idea of what other people are eating. And it's a way of making yourself accountable if you commit to posting every day.
Just need to get back to basics... After 9 years - heck 5 years post op - I never felt like I had surgery cause its been so good.
