weight loss plateau

I had ds surgery about 3 weeks ago and I have already hit a weight loss plateau. I'm eating a diet consistent with what my surgeon and nutrionist advised and I'm also exercising but still I'm not losing weight. I stopped losing weight when I switched from the all liquid diet to puree food. Is it normal for your weight loss to slow down at this point or any recommendation. From everything I have read for the first 12 months the weight should be falling off you no matter how healthy  you eat or how much you exercise.

I have not heard of one person yet who hasn't had the dreaded 3 week stall.  So, it's totally normally.  Nothing is wrong and you're not doing anything wrong.  It's just your body recovering and wondering what the heck you've done to it.

I had another short stall about 3 months out.  And now again, I've been playing with the same 5 pounds for a few weeks before my body decided to let it go and move in.  I, too, worry that since this is my "honeymoon" period I should be dropping pounds like crazy and that something's wrong or I broke my DS.  It's natural to worry.  But keep doing the right things and your body will follow.

Good look - and things start improving from here on out for you :)

"...weight falling off no matter how healthy you eat..." I guess that depends on what you consider "healthy". You do know that we absorb 100% of the carbs we eat, including those from fruit, starchy vegetables and whole grain foods, right? So if you including a lot of those in your healthy diet, the weight may or may not fall right off.

It depends on a lot of factors.

If you had a revision from one WLS to the DS, you will tend to lose weight slower than most.

If you are older, your metabolism is going to be slower than a younger person's metabolism.

If you yo-yo dieted, your can really slow down your metabolism.

Eating carbs will slow down your weight loss.

And everyone stalls along the way.
