WTH???  Seven pound regain!!!!!  Not eating any differently.

Back to immediate post-op plan for me....four shakes a day!

The only carbs I eat are 12 grain bread in sandwiches or 100% whole wheat, and Kashi Red Box cereal, carbs yes, but also 13 grams of protein per serving.

it is more than likely the carbs from the bread and cereal. how long have you been eating them and when did you have the gain?

Even though there is 13 gms of protein, you can get 13 gms of protein from meat and not get the carbs. there are 30 gms of carbs in a serving of the cereal 10gms of fiber which still leaves you with 20 gms of carbs for very little protein, actually.

One of the problems with carbs is your body has to hold up to 4 # of water to process the carbs.  it takes about a week to process it and about the time your body gets ready to release it,you eat some more so it is the same cycle.

I,personally am addicted to carbs and i don't even go there. Everyone's mileage varies, but that would be a huge problem for me,in a variety of ways. GL

I just got the gain this week, and as it's been hours since I first posted, I am now peeing like a racehorse!

I don't have diabetes now, didn't have it pre-op, either.

Maybe a little too much salt this week?

Aunt Flo hasn't visited for over ten years now, so that's not the problem.

Perhaps some of the ladies can answer this...do post-menopausal women retain water for no reason?

I agree with Holly, cut the bread out.  Sorry.

The Kashi helps with the "liquidity"...if you get my drift.  I've tried chia seeds, and they just don't get it for me.

I ate Kashi pre-op and added it back to my diet after a year post-op.

I'm sure I'm doing some mindless eating, and I don't have sandwiches everyday.  One loaf of 12 grain lasts me a couple of months, refrigerated or frozen, and this is from the Aunt Millie's outlet, so it's already near the shelf date. I only use one slice, since it's wide pan bread

I do however, have Kashi everyday for breakfast, and I use it as a snack food.  It has never put a pound on me before now. Popcorn with real butter is another snack food.  Carbs there, too, but also fiber, which I do need to keep the bathroom duty nice and firm.  Anybody have an alternative to what I just mentioned?   Psyllium husks make me go more.

I still do protein shakes along with Creon, after my bout with PCM . I also use Creon with my supplements.

My CC is only 75cm, and i just *know* my DS is not broken!

I'm also going to look at side effects from an Rx sleep aid I'm taking.  Weight gain could be one of them.

Very hard to sleep since Mom passed last April.  Already in grief therapy.

Creon you say??

It is without a doubt, the creon.

Girlio - Creon not only helps you absorb more nutrients - but you absorb more of the food you've been eating, too.  If you didn't want to gain any weight while taking creon, you need to cut back the eating now.  You can't have it all, my dear.

Hi Val,

Yes, I know about Creon.  I've been on it since my third month out, back in 2009, and was warned it could make me gain weight.  It did not, until now.

Heck, at this stage of the game, I don't even take Creon with all food all the time.  Only with protein, shakes and vites.

I know Creon is like a pharmaceutical reversal, and I have been very careful with it.

Either way - that would be the first thing I would be changing if you're alarmed about the gain.  It continues to do its thing as designed as your body and weight calms down and levels off.
