What is the difference in recovery after surgery between a VSG and a VSG revised to a DS

I had a VSG a year ago. I remember after surgery that consuming two ounces of liquid - whether protein or water - was a real chore. I stuck with it, but boy, was it a lot of work! Will it be the same after a VSG revised to a DS? For those who have had VSG to DS - how is the recovery period different?
Thanks,

I just had a revision from a VSG done 3 years ago to a DS last week. The only physical difference I notice is the intestinal part, the sleeve part feels exactly like it did for me before the DS. Same restriction and same tolerances. I've been wondering if this is normal for revision patients.
I was a 2 parter and had 4 nights/5 days in hospital and ended up having an enforced 5 day pouch test (yes I know we don't have a pouch). Anyway it brought back quite a bit of restriction for several months even though my sleeve wasn't touched.
IMO the DS recovery was easier but that could be to do with expectations as I was told I'd be out shopping after one night with my sleeve and instead I ended up staying in hospital for 3 nights (no complications, but I was having a hard time getting in enough fluids).
With the DS they wanted me to stay locally for 4 nights after and I only stayed one as I felt OK and just wanted to get home (staying alone in a hotel seemed like a bad plan if I did have complications which thankfully I didn't).
My surgeon only does 2 part DSs so he's used to getting through the scar tissue of the sleeve and I think that helped with my recovery as other surgeons (on DSfacts) wanted to do it open.

I my DS
Revised from VSG to Ds 3 weeks ago and I have found the DS recovery to be harder. I had no trouble eating and drinking after the VSG,...after the DS,been harder. Not that it hurts, sleeve is the same after all,but i don't want to eat and drink and nothing tastes "right" again.
I realize I am 3 years older now and was old to start with, lol. but I didn't expect this kind of change. My sleeve has lots more restriction,as it usually does when I am sick or recovering and I kinda expected that too. I am also in the infamous 3 week stall, who would have thunk it?
I had the VSG in Aug 2011, and besides the restriction issues I didn't have much pain or feel otherwise drained. When I had the DS revision in January, it kicked my ass. I wasn't any more restricted than I was pre-DS, but I felt kind of beat up for a week and a half. Much more abdominal pain (as opposed to stomach discomfort). I was already flabby because I had lost 150 with the VSG, and that hung off my new wounds, making it hurtful to just walk around.
But everyone is different. Your mileage may vary.
Of course, now there are different issues, specifically gas, which I didn't have pre-DS. Way worse than any menstrual cramps I ever had. It's a learning process.

Thanks for your replies everyone. It really seems to be a YMMV thing. Hope I find it easier.
