What is your common channel length?
100cm is his standard. He sees less nutritional issues and good WL maintenance with it. I was a lightweight and he even gave it to me.

150 for me - and I wi**** were 100 - mostly because I'm impatient. But I suppose I paid my surgeon the big bucks for his expertise!! My surgeon does the measuring and then some calculation from there to determine. I just crack up every time I think about it because I imagine all these people in there, trying to do the math in their head and the surgeon yelling out "hey, someone get my calculator".!!
Mine is 175 (he was gonna do 200 but I talked him into 175 at the last min). WI**** was more like 125. The flip side to a slightly longer one is better absorption of vitamins/protein.

The malabsorptive component to the surgery is what drew me to DS in the first place, but I'm concerned because I'm considered a "lightweight" with a bmi of 40, and I worry the surgeon might give me a super long common channel, thereby reducing that malabsorptive factor. I especially worry because they tried to steer me towards rny since they said he liked to use DS only for the severely obese. I worry that with the larger food pouch, if he gives me longer common channel there will be a greater risk of weight regain.
