Now I remember why I stopped taking my vits!!!
I agree that a different brand may be all you need. There's a popular brand of Calcium Citrate that really wreaked havoc on my system, from diarrhea to acne. I switched brands and all was well with my world again. I just omitted one vitamin at a time from my regime for a couple of days to see if there was a change, then another, and so on.

Try liquid vites for the basics first. There are liquid multis and calcium available, and sublingual B12 which really isn't too bad. I prefer to give myself B12 shots, but that's just me. I don't know of any liquid thiamine (B1), but the tablets are thin and normal sized, and they don't really give me a problem.
I also find that capsules work better for me, especially with calcium, and I have been lucky enough to find calcium citrate in capsule form. Much easier going down that those big horse pills, which I had to cut.
Early out, I took multis and calcium in liquid form, and I still supplement with liquids in addition to pills/capsules sometimes if I feel I need to, especially calcium. I've had issues out of the gate with getting enough.
I'm due for full labs next month, so I'll see if the capsule theory for better absorption holds for me. If so, I've found the answer to my prayers!
Many many years ago, long before my DS, I went through a phase when I threw up every morning promptly after arriving at work. Turned out it was from a multivit I was taking from a local drug store. The pharmacist there said it was probably something in the coating that my insides reacted to. I switched to a different brand and problem solved.
I understand why you don't want to be scolded, but I also understand why you got scolded. As someone who helps people with appeals for the DS, I can tell you from first hand experience with lots of denials that insurers use potential nutritional problems as one of their excuses for denying the DS. In reality, almost all the people who get into trouble with nutritional deficiencies do so from noncompliance, but we still have to fight this issue all the time.
You are one of the lucky ones. You have your DS, and no one can take it away from you. Others are not so fortunate. Of course the biggest reason to take those vits of for yourself, because even if you aren't in trouble yet, you will be at some point, and it's far more difficult to fix these deficits than it is to prevent them. You won't get away with noncompliance forever, so as Val said, try different products, try different timing, and find a system that works for you. It's well worth the effort.

Are you taking any chewable vitamins? I found out early on that they had sorbitol, and I was suffering from the SA that were in them. It was not a fun time. Traded them out for big girl vits and things got much better. Are you taking probiotics? I had problems with 5 or 6 different brands, finally figured out my body doesn't like them. It's a process of elimination. Good luck getting back into the habit of taking your vits!

Hi Diana! Nice to hear from ya! Sorry you are having tummy pain. That's no fun.
As Val and Chris mentioned I guess you're just going to have to experiment, one pill at a time. I've found you really have to read the bottle labels. A lot of Vitamin Shoppe supplements contain rice flour, of which I'm suspicious. And then there's the "itols." If it is zinc, as Gina mentioned, I can remember that Vitalady commented that some folks use zinc lozenges. And Zinc picolonate is suppose to be well absorbed. I use the Blue Bonnet brand. Keep us posted of what you discover and how you're progressing -Jenny :o)
