Let me start off with sorry about the typing/spelling  new laptop and omg it's driving me nuts Ty for understanding :)  lmao.

Here is were I'm at I had the sleeve on 9/26/12 I have lost only 35lbs not a lot yes I know I eat right get in all the things i need to get in. I workout 5 days a week things like p90x 5 mil walks lifting weights so on. My weight slowed to a almost stop in mid Nov I stoped  dropping inches at about the same time. So i am now 6 months out and my Doc is talking full DS. I know little of the DS but my worrie is that if  I'm eatting right for the most part working out like I have been from day 1 how will the DS help me  drop the last bit of weight I need to. I'm unsure that it will be any different or make that much of a difference then what I have now the sleeve. I'm not 100% sure my sleeve has stoped working or if I'm just very slow. As much as I workou****ch what I eat I think I might have to face that it is not working as it shouod be. It is very hard to even find ppl to talk to about there sleeve not working as intended . So now that you have been so kind as to read this again sorry about the new laptop lol  links stories any info on something like ths your thought again anything you think would help I would love to see Ty hugz

I'm 7 months out and have lost more than 40lbs pretty much thanks to my newly re-arranged intestines.  My diet hasn't changed too much since I was switched as I mostly on an Atkins style diet (OK I'm a lot more liberal with the heavy cream and butter now).

You want to have the DS with a vetted surgeon and I don't see your doc on DSfacts.  There will be scar tissue to get through from your sleeve and I was happy to have my DS lap, lesser surgeons I spoke to were talking about doing it open which I absolutely didn't want.

I had a text book recovery and it's been pretty much as expected.

I had the VSG in Aug 2011, and it was always the plan to revise and go for the DS, because I was a super heavy weight.  So, in a year and a half of the VSG, I lost 150 lbs, although my weight loss had for all intents and purposes slowed to a crawl after about 9 months.  I revised to the full DS on Jan 23.  About the only change in my diet has been that I'm much more vigilant about getting my protein shake in.  I lost 20 lbs in the first 2.5 weeks, and haven't lost anything in the six weeks since.  I have a lot more BMs than I used to, have all the gas and all the negative side effects that the DS brings, but seriously don't understand why if I'm absorbing so much less why the scale hasn't moved at all.  Cuz I'm gonna be pissed if I did all of this revision and only dropped another 20 lbs.

Are you keeping the carbs low and fat high? Maybe you'll have to add in some exercise to get the scale moving.

You know I never understood this idea of high fat.  Even when absorbing less, why would any additional fat help to lose weight?

I've cut back on carbs simply because they give me gas, but I've never counted carbs, not with the VSG and not with the DS.  Thing is, I was losing even a half pound a week before the DS.  How can I not be even doing that now?  I swear there's a lot more waste coming out of me than there was before!

High fat has a laxative effect on DSers.  I went a little nuts with fat on Sunday and was half a pound lighter on Monday.  You can tell when you've had A LOT of fat coz you get orange oil slicks in the toilet (I went OTT - so don't go nuts like I did or you'll suffer like I did - as in plenty of trips to the bathroom on Sunday night).

Increasing the fat also leaves less space for other junk and helps us stick to an Atkins style plan more easily.

Don't get all bent out of shape just because you have been in a stall. The weightloss will happen, you just need a bit more patients. It won't happen over night even when we think that it should.

Better pissed off then pissed on.

Try to stay reasonable, the DS works wonders but is not a over night miracle cure

LMAO I know what a stall is I have had a few of them had one that lasted 10 weeks then I lost inches I stoped dropping inches 12 weeks ago. I'm not asking for over night. 35lbs in 6 months is not norm not even low end of norm.  So I do think I'm being reasonable by asking around and getting a bit more info before I dish out 35k on DS. I even posted in the sleeve forum to get info from other sleevers. After talking with a lot of them I am going to cut back on my workouts and go down to 400/600 cals and under 20 carbs. I would rather not go back under or have to dish out 35k after i dished out 25k for the sleeve I had it done in Ohio.

According to your ticket, you started out with an excess weight of 94 pounds, and you've lost about one-third of it. Honestly, that's about average.

35K is A LOT of money and I wouldn't shell out that much.  Have looked into Dr Ungson or Dr Aceves in Mexico?  I believe the DS is ~$16K there.
