Constipation
Lots of fat
Lots of fluids
Add fiber and stool softener - the last thing you want to do is tear a fissure or get hemorrhoids.
You should have found some kind of trigger food that makes you poo by now. Try that. For me, it's heavily buttered popcorn, meatloaf, and chili.
If none of those work - time to call the doc.

My trigger food: Donuts! (it's also dh's trigger food for the same reason...makes us poo)
None of Valerie's trigger foods do a thing for me, LOL
I've also heard that fried chicken can help.
But finding a trigger food is helpful.

Been there. Recently. I thought my guts were falling out, and the pain from a BM was enough to make me cry out. Got so the dog got nervous when I was heading for the bathroom.... She is a sensitive sort.
The long term constipation (and then diarrhea) has been a bear since I started the vitamins. I got a rip in the anus muscle (fissure) from the rough BMs. I would bleed after every BM, and some days that's a lot of blood loss. What I hated was the sphincter spasms afterwards – for a couple of hours or more after every BM. OMG, never ending.
I added more fat to my diet, which is hard for me. ¼ Avocado, or 4 pcs bacon, and butter on all meats and eggs every day. Heavy whipping cream in my shakes and protein coffees.
Calcium binds me up, so I take Magnesium with every Calcium pill.
I purchased Ducolax and tried a pill or two. It works better if I take it on a regular basis, because it doesn’t do anything for me if I start taking it when I am already constipated. I prefer to try to balance this with consuming more fat, because that will help me in the future with calories and losing weight.
But the stool softeners have helped with the fissure. Getting that to heal is job #1. I can’t think when the other end of my brain is spasming for hours a day. But I keep track of how much fat I eat, how much real meat I eat, and how much cheese I eat. I don’t weigh things, but I keep a mental note. Sometimes I do have to eat a saltine cracker with a ton of butter on it at dinner time to balance it out.
Magnesium Oxide pills. You can take them several times a day. It totally worked for me WHEN I had problems. To prevent constipation you MUST get enough fat and about a gallon of water a day. You will have to experiment with how much fat is the right amount. But first you must get over this bout.
You may need to see a doctor. Hemmoroids or a fissure may have already happened and would need a doctor's intervention.
You can get Magnesium Oxide caps at Vitamin Shoppe. I would say VitaLady but you need to start it today.
Good luck!
