I dropped my iron to once a week for a while, because of the iron infusions. They made it jump way way too high. I've begun to take more, and I will adjust it after I see my next set of labs, due next month. I have also already increased my zinc. D and Calcium are always higher than the guidelines on the list, because I have been calcium challenged almost from day one.
I got a list of labs from another DSer, and had my doctors put it into my chart. My surgeon already knows what to draw, it's just the PCP and the hematologist that I had to take to school. They were very receptive, unlike many doctors I've seen posts about on this board.
Yes, electorphoresis was ordered by my hematologist because of the lupus.
I met with him today for my last pre-surgery appointment, and he is supportive of Vitalady's plan. She's not linked to his website, but when I mentioned that I was planning to use her protocol, he said she's great.
I bought a 3 month supply for DS, and I plan to buy from her until I figure out what works for me.
Good luck!
I never had any problems with Dr. G. I just told him that I was following Vitalady's plan and not his nutritionist. Never did he tell me he wanted me to go on Creon OR talk about a revision. If he had, I would have told him no way, no how! You just have to know what works for you and be ready to tell the doc why! With every doctor, with every service rendered, not just by physicians, you have to be your own best advocate. just my opinion
