Hoping for DS Revision
Michele, I have not scheduled an appointment with him yet. I am planning to attend an information session scheduled for May 6th. Given that I've already been down the WLS road before, do you think it'd be better if I skip the info session and make an appointment with him directly?
Thanks! And best wishes for a successful surgery!

Hi Lynn looks like we are in the same boat. I had my RNY in 2006 and I am scheduled for my revision in 3 1/2 weeks. OMG!! that is so freaking close.
Yep, I felt ashamed and still do for regaining my weight but I got over that shame and started researching the DS and learned that it is the surgery I should have had in the first place. I went to an orientation with Dr. Rabkin last week and by the time I left his office I had the surgery date I wanted and had paid his office $16,200 with the rest of the $40,000 to be paid the day prior to surgery. I left there in complete shock because I got just what I wanted.
I don't think I'm going to tell anyone except a few family members because I do still have a lot of failure issues, i'I just saying I'm getting my apendix and gall bladder out.
Here we are on a whole new journey, I wish you luck.
Lee, WOW! That's a quick turnaround! Like you, I realized (after some research) that I should've had a DS in the first place as well. Although, in my case, my health insurance at that time would not pay for a DS.
I'm not gonna tell anyone either. My partner knows, but that's the only person who will. My immediate family knows about the RNY so, if and when I get the revision and start losing again, I'll just tell them I saw my surgeon & nutritionist and they got me back on track. All truth!
Best wishes for a successful surgery! I'll be following your progress!
