RNY To DS on 3-20-13 by Dr Barker in Dallas
These statements by these vets are NOT researched or any facts about his actual experience as a doctor. PLEASE contact me if you would like to hear more about him or hear about my five years worth of experience with him as a surgeon. I question any of the informatino they give me now because of how OFF BASE they are on barker. GRANTED his approach on vitamins after surgery is WAY off but him as a surgeon is GREAT.
FRUSTRATED by lack of knowledge of these who are chiming in.
Please listen to everyone who has chimed in here. They are all knowledgeable vets and would NEVER steer you wrong.
There are only a handful of qualified surgeons who can give you a proper revision to a DS. Also, many surgeon's offices (RDs, nutritionists, etc) aren't properly schooled in the nutritional requirements of a DSer. But I'd reconsider your choice of surgeon first and foremost if it were me.
I am sorry these posts probably aren't doing much to calm your nerves but everyone who has posted, has done so out of concern. Surgery is serious.
Good luck and best wishes
