DS Reversal

Why exactly would you want a reversal? I've seen nobody go through a revision without problems, so this should be an absolute last resort. If you're looking to increase absorption, try digestive enzymes like creon first. They work on most everyone.

What's next would be to consult here with the vets about what has worked for other people who have had the trouble you are having.
For instance I know one woman who did five or six protein drinks a day and that kept her protein up until she was able to eat more.
You also need to find out if your vitamin supplementation is appropriate for the DS. MANY people are undersupplementing based on their surgeon's advice. If you don't get the right kinds and amounts of vitamins then your body can't absorb the nutrients you are eating.
So in my opinion from reading this board for four years there are options that are MUCH safer than a revision. What is your BMI?
Exactly what do you eat? Exactly what vites do you take? That is the kind of specific informaiton the vets here need to see to advise you.

I know of a woman who had chronic diarrhea for a year or more post op. She was eating wrong things -- simple carbs, some ubber fatty foods, etc. But the problem was extending beyond that issue. Her doctor eventually recommended she increase her fiber intake and navy bean soup with ham become a serious staple dish for her. The beans added a lot of fiber and she made good strides toward getting her diarrhea under control. She has continued to have issues and they have discussed the possibility that she could have crone's disease and some other possibilities like IBS, but she is doing better than she was and is managing her digestive issues. A lot of it is trial and error. Keep trying - explore the possibilities so that you know you did everything you could do for yourself before going backwards.
I hope it works out for you!!!
There's a reason why you are having problems. You need to figure out why and what is the root cause. I'm glad the TPN is working for you. If I was in your place, I would want to know what was causing my issues. There are LOTS of meds out there that will take care of diarrhea and nausea. What have you tried? What are you on now? What are you eating?
As far as the weight loss goes, the DS is usually pretty self-limiting. You don't just keep on losing weight. Most people pretty much stop losing around the 2 year mark and that's it. Unless you diet and work at losing. If I recall correctly your BMI is fine and it's the protein levels causing trouble.
There have been partial reversals but it's not common. Look up Lynn Bee. I believe she had her CC made longer. It must have fixed her problem because I haven't seen her here for a while. Anyway, it can be done!
