And down 70 lbs!!!!

When I started my DS journey, I was 345 (my weight in the first picture).  I then broke my ankle in a fall and managed to gain up to 353 before my DS when I should have been trying to lose weight.  No matter.  The cast came off and I was ready for my life to change for the better... again.  I had regained 117 of the 189 I'd lost when I was sleeved.  Getting closer and closer to my original weight every time I tried to get back on the wagon only made me more depressed.  The DS gave me hope I hadn't felt in a long time.

Now, I can't imagine what life would be without it.  I am amazed by my body.  For the first time, I feel in control of what I eat.  I don't need the foods that used to hold such a strong grip over me (carby foods especially with gluten).  I enjoy eating a reasonable sized meal.  Before, for me to lose weight, everything had to be no fat!  I love that I can have butter, mayo, CHEESE!!!, BACON!!!!! and other foods that make giving up the carbs and sugar worth that small sacrifice.

I'm so glad I did this and wish I hadn't waited so long to take the leap.  I can't wait to see what the next 20 weeks will bring!

Are you reading my mail? Are you in my head.  I think the same. sleeved 2 years ago lost 110 or so and gained 25 or so.  Getting DS in 4 weeks. Was it difficult for the revision?  Thanks fo sharing. It has been a LONG journey so far but hopeit will be worth it all.  Maja St Louis MO.

LOL!  Your response made me giggle!

The only thing they did was remove my gallbladder which was full of stones and he did the switch part.  I still had good restriction so there was no need to re-sleeve me.  I didn't find it difficult at all!  I think my husband said I was in surgery for about 4-5 hours.  I honestly don't remember much from right after.  Just waking up in my room and wanting to sleep for most of the afternoon.  But once I got up and moving, I felt much better.  The nurses were always picking on me cause I was up at least once an hour doing laps around the floor.  I felt that having a matured sleeve gave me an advantage.  I had no issues getting my protein in once I was released from the hospital and staying hydrated was easy-peasy.  I was sore and I wore out easily...  but I was back at work 8 days post-op (sedentary desk job).  The bathroom habits was a bit of an adjustment, but within a the first few months, your body creates a new routine and I rarely ever go at work.  If I do, I've got my handy-dandy Ozium to take care of the smell (and of course the occasional courtesy flush).  =)

Good luck and keep us posted!!!!!!
