APPOINTMENT WITH DR. RABKIN TODAY, REVISION SURGERY PLANNED NEXT MONTH

I went in for my orientation with Dr. Rabkin today and it went really well.  I had all of my questions answered and I am planned to hav e my surgery next month on the 28th.   I went in hoping to have my surgery next month on the exact date that I got so this is surely a sign for me. 

I am excited and extremely nervous because I know just how complicated revision, or as Dr. Rabkin called in conversion surgery is.  I have a one in four chance of a leak, and complications, but after all my research and talking to people here on OH and other boards along with facebook I am ready for those odds because they are worth the results. 

I would like some feedback on preparing myself physically and mentally for this surgery from people who have had revisions and any others as well. 

I can't believe it is happening so fast.

Congrats. I wi**** was that fast for me. I have to get insurance appoval and hat whole dance...The great thing is that it is covered under my plan...Again, this is wonderful ...congratulations!!

Hey Tricie,  You have to wait longer when dealing with insurance, but you don't have to pay so it's worth it.  Yeah I can set my own date but I also am coming out of my pocket $40,000.  I am not financing **** I really did want to walk in there with a hand full of hundreds and make it rain.  LOL.

I am so dam nervous Tricie.  I am excited but dam it's just like the first time scared as hell and even more with this one because of the complexity of the procedure.   Keep me posted with your progress.

Im not on here that often so I might have missed your post with your date on it. When are you scheduled for? Please keep me posted. You know I forgot how supportive this site could be.

You know Im going on 50 and the first time around I wanted to be fabulous at 50...meaning physically. Now I was to feel fabulous inside and out. It is funny how when I weighed 165 lbs size 8 and all I could see was FAT. All I did was go from one pair of stilettos to another. Now all I want is to be able to get up on my off day put on some raggedy ole jeans, gym shoes, hoodie and go. But jeans look awful on me and hoodies dont hide my hips. It is funny how I consider that the old me....I dont even like who I am or what I look like anymore. I am less active  and I hate it.

I understand your fears but I CANT WAIT! Hell! Im excited for you!! I

My surgery date is on March 28, just three weeks away.  I am so nervous and excited about it.

Kerry Johnson had his RNY taken down and then the DS in '08 with Dr Rabkin.  He's mostly on FB in the DS group.

Congrats, you are in wonderful hands.
