Had PICC placed this morning just waiting on nurse to come hook me up. Still a lil nervous I have to be on pump for 24 hours a day in the beginning! Hope this helps out my levels and get me back on track!'

I had a stricture and had to be put on TPN via PICC 24/7. I had the nice little backpack as well :)  It's a pain for sure, especially with showering and having to wrap your arm in saran wrap. Just be sure that when your nurse comes in to clean your bandage that they put the anti bacterial gel looking thing on it each and every time. My nurse told me she didn't have one at one visit and that I would "be o****il next time". Well, just a few days later I spiked a fever of 105 and ended up in the emergency room with an infection. They had to pull the PICC and put it in the other arm, and ask you know, that's a pain in the butt to have done! Just keep an eye on it, and report any redness at all asap!
