Your metabolism sounds like mine. The only way I can lose weight is to cut my calories to around 600 a day and work out seven days a week. I had a trainer once tell me I had the worst metabolism he has ever seen. Looks like I found someone else with the same issue.

It amazes me how little is really known about hormones, metabolism, insulin, etc., and how it is all interconnected.

All my doctors looked at me as if I was lying about my calorie count.  Everyone asked me to provide food diaries over and over.

All asked me what I was eating when I said I kept my carbs below 10 and fat at 40% (like I had not figured out these numbers from real experience).  I knew more about nutrition, supplements and low carb diet than they did.

It was surreal as I went from doctor to doctor, my abdomen looking like I was 8 months pregnant...  and all they had to give me was "Your metabolism is dead, and there is nothing we can do for you."

I just feel free from banging my head against the wall.

...ditto to all of the above...the worst is not being able to get out of a bathtub after you already struggled to get in!...Also, wiping after using the bathroom...and of course, not fitting into seats, booths, etc. at restaurants & movies!

I am glad someone else fessed up to this bathroom thing. It is the most humiliating and horrible thing ever. =( It was definitely my turning point.

I didn't have a physical moment when it happened, mine was all mental.

It was when I realized I loved food more than I loved myself. I was willing to keep killing myself with food rather than do something about it.

Ouch.
