Muscle Milk UpDAte
Ok I said I would update, so here it is.
I drank 4 muscle milks yesterday and I have had only slight bloating but not sure if it came from that. I love the chocolate and vanilla.
I drank one this AM upon waking and so far its been over 1/2 hour and no bloating. I am as happy as a turd in a toilet lol.
I am going to go and get a couple cases of this at Sams on way back from Doctors appt and will make this a part of my daily routine but still will try to do at least 2 syntrax nectur shakes also. Dr. Greenbaum e-mailed me back this morning already saying he was proud of me for hitting it hard like he knew I would and told me not to forget to eat solid protein also lol.
I do not understand why I can't use splenda packet but the small amt in these shakes do not bother me so Yippy Ki yay, I am doing the happy dance slowly lol. I still don't have enough iron to hardly breath but I am working on it.
Hope this helps someone cause it can happen to you at anytime.

Hi Debbie as of today, my WBC is up to 3.8, RBC 3, Hgb 8, HCT 22, Platelets 110. Extreme anemia is what the hematologist diagnosed me with. I almost had a heart attack because I did not have enough hemoglobin to carry oxygen to my heart muscle.
I am getting unit of packed RBC tomorrow and and Iron infusion which was supposed to be Friday but I am too low and not making RBC's so they do not want to wait.
My early symptoms was I have been running on low side with iron all along like Ferritin level 6-8 (no good) and doctors not listening to me at the same time I was eating proferrin like candy and carbynal iron with Vit C.
As time went by I was always complaining about it being cold, I live on Fort Myers Beach for crying out loud and I ran around wearing a freaking sweater all the time. But the worst was waking up in middle of the night with full leg charley horses that made me cry out in pain and they were breath taking. All the while my potassium and mg, etc are within normal limits but again still on low side.
Do not ignore any symptoms like these. You will get so bad that your albumin will drop, your lower legs will swell and you will be short of breath and can have a heart attack.

Patti,
I am so tickled to find something new and right now I am drinking one at least every one to two hours. I have coupons and ppl keep giving me coupons so lets see what happens to my levels in 2 months of this.
I thought the muscle milk was just another one of those high sugar crap protein drinks BOY AM I EVER SO GLAD I WAS WRONG.

P.S. I also tried a splenda packet in a cup of coffee and dang it I had bad gas and stomach cramps so I do not have a clue what the difference is.

I am not sure about that either but I can tell you I have been pumping my body full of muscle milk for 2 days now and I seem to have more energy this morning. See according to my hematologist anemia and protein deficiency plays together so I am being pumped for both.
Right now here in Florida Publix Grocery has coupons for their store, buy 3 and 1 free so hubby and I are going everyday and buying as much as they will let us. I will also be buying them at Sams Club. The Atkins shakes are a little hard for me to digest and you get more bang for the buck with Muscle Milk. Very healthy.
I am with you though they are pricey so I will not be able to drink as many per day as I am right now but for now I am in trouble so I am drinking them all day.

So sorry Splenda gives you the blues! I couldn't live without it! I once found a different brand of sucralose, which is the generic name for Splenda, called Nevella, which had probiotics added to it. I can't find it anymore, so I'm writing to see if I can purchase it directly from the company, which just happens to be in the same city as my DS surgeon!
I'm hoping I can buy a case or two, because it seems to work especially well for me.
