Splenda is not a sugar alcohol.  The sugar alcohols are the "itols".  Most folks do fine with splenda.

The NUT told me Spleda, sucralose was in the sugar alcohol groups and for some reason I can't tolerate it will but it was my favorite prior to surgery.  So far Becky I bloated a little but no throwing up or diarrhea and I drank it at 3 PM and its 6:45 now.  I am going to get me some more tomorrow at Sams Club and I want to try vanilla also.

If it makes me uncomfortable and thats it, well I will drink it in the evenings.  I am so happy that I held it down and it didn't run out the other end either.

P.S Oh how the world will open up to me if I can do splenda again.  Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

THere are a lot of foods I can't tolerate.  I can't do anything with wheat gluten in it.  Foods without wheat gluten like Chex cereals I can't do either and I suspect it is just too many carbs.  I have always been able to do splenda no problem.  SAs made me have TERRIBLE gas early out but now I can do small amounts.  I have one Atkins bar a day now and they have SAs and I do okay.  Mainly I have to avoid carbs now along with wheat gluten.  Wheat gluten hides in everything so I have to label read like crazy.

I think you are the first person I've heard of that had problems with splenda.  It might be something else in the foods with splenda giving you problems.  Milk would come to mind.  I can't do any kind of milk, soy milk, almond milk.  But I can do heavy cream.
