I want to lose a few pounds!
I hope so! I was VERY good about my diet yesterday, yet b/c I ate a lot of cheese (salt), I'm up .4 pounds. I know that's water weight b/c I do actually feel less bloat with a flatter tummy, but it still irks me just a tad.
Valerie also suggested the protein shakes. SIGH. I know you vets are right!! I will pull them out that protein bag & mix it with ice, half & half, & some splenda - this is what I find makes it taste the best.

For me that would be an unrealistic goal. I started low carbing at Thanksgiving and by January I was down at least 15 lbs. I am down even further now and my size 4s are getting loose. I have to cinch my belt tighter to keep them up lol.
So you CAN loose that regain but how much you can loose in one month I don't know.
Congrats on the wedding. I'm happy for you.

Thanks, Becky :) It's good to see your post! For the WL, I will give it my best & see what happens. This is the first time since having the DS & reaching a (mostly) stable weight that I've purposely decided to lose weight AND stick with it.

The shakes I like are: Dymatize Elite, double scoops, with 1/2 C heavy cream added to 12 oz water. When I wanted to break a stall, I had steak, and all meat /cheese protein. It worked best for the short term with the most loss for me. The further out you are from surgery is an important factor for quick weight loss. You may have a bit of a slower loss. I limited my carbs to 30g for quick loss, and under 50g for long term sustained loss. My protein is between 120-150g a day. Hydrate well over 64 oz a day, 1/2 at least must be plain water, its utilized quickly to prevent dehydration.
Hmmm . . . I love heavy cream. I think I am keeping it to less than 30 grams, probably less than 20 for now. I've not counted, but have a very good idea of nutritional profiles of foods. The biggest thing I'm concerned about for carbs is the splenda I use in coffee b/c I know it's actually about half the calories of sugar and does still cause an insulin effect for diabetics, which suggests it metabolizes at least somewhat like sugar. I just LOVE coffee & like it sweet.
On that note, though, I really do have to be better about drinking more plain water. I have noticed when I drink more coffee, I drink less water.
