does it matter the order you take your vites?

I know certain vites can not be taken with other vites but I am just wondering if the order really matters? does it make a difference if I take my iron in the morning or before bed? I am trying to get a list together and get myself on a schedule before surgery so I have a plan to follow. I was just wondering if you take your vites a certain way because lets say a vitamin gives you energy and it would keep you from sleep if you took it later in the day.

I take my B's in the morning always.  Potassium in the AM and Magnesium/K in the PM.  I do twice a day vites and don't really worry about it too much.  I don't want to make it so complicated that I won't do it.  I have an AM and a PM organizer.  But I'm an oldie and I've done very well for 10 years and never had a problem.  So I see no reason to change unless I become deficient in something.  Today I am healthy as a horse.  That could all change tomorrow and I would have to re-figure it all out.

There are many who study and review their vite interactions and consume accordingly.  That's actually a very good idea, especially if you have issues.

The DS is a YMMV state of physiological being.  Many never have a problem.  Others have to be very careful and aware.  There's no way to predict in advance where you will end up.  What's most important is you are willing to change and adapt as necessary.  Most of us have had to make changes over the years as our lab results change.

I take my iron away from all other vitamins in the late afternoon. It's important to keep all your other vitamins and minerals away from iron because it's such a weakling but AM or PM doesn't matter.

Calcium has to be takes 1.5 hours before or after zinc.  Zinc does something hanky with calcium absorption.  In addition, you may not be taking zinc alone, however it is in a multi vite... ( my practice says at least 18mg... that is what my flintstones have)

Flintstones?  Please don't take Flintstones post-op!  They are designed for a 60lb child with a full set of guts.  Not a  DSer.  You will need real vitamins.

Maybe you misunderstood...sounds like you did: The multi is in addition to our entire vite regimen and sup regimen.
