When you take one bite too many?

It hasn't happened in a long time for me.  It only happened 3 times.  It immediately comes up.  I remember Val saying to pay attention to the signs - runny nose, sneezing etc.  I always felt like I was in tune with my body before surgery.  Now, I'm at a new level.  I feel like I'm an infant relearning how to figure out what is going on with my body.  I'm living it!

I have vomited once or twice when taking one bite too many.  I guess that's the price I pay for ignoring the "I'm full" sneezes and /or runny nose.

Absolutely, and the result can be agony.  I had a horrible time leaving only 2 bites on the plate, but after  a couple of bouts of misery, I learned my lesson.  My token has officially been revoked to the Clean Plate Club.

After being a member of the "Clean Plate Club" for decades, I finally learned to listen to my body.

1) I take less than I want...far less.

2) IF after I have finished what is on my plate, I sit trying to decide if I want more...if it takes me longer than 5 seconds to decide, I AM FULL and I wait til later.

3) I don't even bother cooking starches most days..meat and ONE veggie for a meal is typical for us. (We are empty nesters and both of us are DS'er's).

Now, early out, I did eat too much one day...got a BAD case of the foamies but didn't throw up. I was miserable. So totally NOT worth it.

I have never thrown up due to over eating with this surgery. I have felt overful before...not a good feeling. I did spit up a little once from drinking the liquid from the hot sour soup after eating. My main problem is learning that I can't drink right after I eat. Since we cut out the greater curvature of our stomachs the liquid can not flow past the food and we get the stopped up sink effect not good!

It rarely happens to me any more, but sometimes I do drink off the last of my tea and think "Uh-oh---shouldn't have done that!" Usually if I can burp I feel MUCH better.

Early out, I *almost* hurled a couple of times, but a BIG burp saved me. (*grin*)

I throw up.  I don't do that as often now as I did as a newbie, but there are times when I eat too fast, or misjudge the absorbency of a food I've eaten (take-out chicken breast is on my limited amount list rice is one that I eat mini-servings of also),

I drink my beverage, the food swells, and my mouth starts to get that drooly,. watery feeling..and I have about two minutes at that point to find a bathroom, or in a dire emergency, pull the car over...and up it comes.
