Magnesium Hinders Calcium Absorption?
Hello All;
Just doing some reading on vitamin uses, deficiencies, sources, etc. and saw a statement that surprised me.
Magnesium competes with calcium for absorption and can cause a calcium deficiency if calcium levels are already low.

Has anyone heard this? It was my understanding that it aided calcium absorption and it was a good idea to take 1/2 dose with each full dose of calcium (or 250Mg with each 500Mg of calcium). Dealing with these leg cramps, I have been increasing my magnesium and was wondering if I should try 500/500 mag/calc when I saw this statement. Thoughts, anyone?
Still going to take mag citrate with calcium citrate. Maybe they're talking about mag oxide?
