What to do for wicked gas?

I made a Dr. appointment for this Wednesday.  New doctor, so don't know how much will get accomplished. 

I'm pretty sure it's gas, but it sure kicks me down.  I did think about a hernia this time around.  I will ask my doctor to do an ex-ray - or what ever test they do for a hernia.
