Looking for experiences with Dr. Roslin in NYC?
Hello All -
I am doing research on Dr. Roslin in NYC and I know he is well known for doing DS and revisions. I am actually looking into him for doing a VSG.
If anyone can tell me their experience with Dr. Roslin was like, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if anyone can answer the questions below, that would be great too!
Do you know what size bougie Dr. Roslin used when doing a sleeve? Does he do a tight sleeve or a looser sleeve? Also.. what eating plan are you on after surgery? Calorie requirements, carbs, protein? What is the aftercare like
Thank you for any feedback anyone can give.
Sending you the email of a friend who knows Dr Roslin. : )

DS on Aug 9, 2007 with Dr. Hazem Elariny
He did a DS on me back in November: I would 100% recommend him as a surgeon with one warning.
He may not be for you if your looking for a doctor who will hold your hand though it all or have a great bedside manor. He will answer all questions you have, and will even quickly respond to e-mails if you have questions or concerns. My recovery has been amazingly fast with no complecations.

I dont recall the exact size but I know for the DS he goes with more restriction and less malabsorbtion.

Three weeks clear liquids, then a week puree, then soft foods for a week, then food as you can tolerate. He never gave me stright numbers for carbs other then try to avoid them... for protein he wanted at least 90g a day.
What is the aftercare like
I was in the hospital for 2 days after my DS, saw him once a day. After then I had a 2 week check up, a 1.5 month check-up and a 3 month checkup. Again he is completely available for questions and concerns, but by the time you had your operation you should be fully aware of what you need to do post op and just follow the guide lines.
Dr. Roslin did my Band to VSG revision. I really liked him and had excellent care at Lenox Hill. Really great nurses. I think he used a 34F bougie on me, but just ask him. Post-op it was liquids in the hospital, purees, and then solids. Gradual progression over 4-6 weeks. Also, Nexium once your out of the hospital for at least the first month.
His nutritionist (at the time) was clueless about DS nutrition, though. No idea if that's changed or not...or if it matters.
Lap-Band June 14, 2001. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico.
Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin. I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby. 5 years out from revision to VSG. Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(
