Several of you have mentioned eating popcorn as a snack.  I thought it was too high in carbs for us DSers.

I have snacked on it quite a few times...of course I used to eat a whole bag and now I eat 1/2 of a mini bag.  The carbs haven't bothered me yet.

How are you 6penningtons? It's been a while since I've seen you post and I remember your surgery date;) This is a great question bc I thought it was high carb too......

I didn't touch it until I got to goal.  I eat the little snack size bags every day at work now, but they are carbs, and I have to watch out not to get too many.

It's also high if fiber and a great vehicle for fat.  Some have even used it as a stall-buster.  It's also a complex carb, so malabsorbed more than the simple carbs like flour and sugar.

A lot of people may eat popcorn, but look at their surgery dates. People tend to add more carbs to their diet the farther out from the weight loss stage they are.

I am almost 1 1/2 years out, and I still have to be careful with theatre popcorn. When I do eat it know, the fiber really kicks in and can be uncomfortable at times.

I avoided popcorn for the first, say, 9 months except for just a couple of occasions because I wanted the carbs OUT and the protein IN. I would keep them out for as long as possible, just because they tend to sneak up in us and cause weight loss problems. Grab some yogurt or a babybel instead!

You can also do a search of "popcorn and DS" on this site. There have been a lot of discussions about popcorn!

I very seldom eat popcorn because of the carbs.

I ate it every day during my weight loss covered (and I mean covered) in melted butter. I eat the butter popcorn now but don't add the butter any more.

I think the fiber helps me and the butter was really helpful during my weight loss.

I enjoy using it as a snack, but the next day I can tell the scale is not that crazy about it, but then and again I do eat too much of it in a serving size. I eat a regular bag size.

I definitely eat it occasionally.  I love it.

It's a whole grain, can be a good vehicle for fat, and you can eat a whole mini bag for about ~20g of carb.  One mini bag fills a big bowl of mine twice, so it definitely feels like a big portion.
