Where can I find what and how much of each vitamin /mineral supplement needs to be taken for the DS? I will

be having surgery on March 19th and I want to be on top of things. I know you are all very knowledgeable and on

top of things. I'm grateful you are all so willing to share your experiences and information.

Thanks

Sharon

When they do your labs post-op, they will tell you what you're deficient in or what you're ODing on.

For starters, my NUT has me taking:

2 multivitamins (like Centrum Silver)
1800 mg calcium citrate (not carbonate)
Vitamin D3  2000IU
Vitamin A  10000IU
They are going to prescribe me Iron when I go for my 1 mo post-op
And I'm expected to start taking extra Vitamin E and K, and most likely some magnesium

And I was already taking:
Super B Complex
Extra B12
Biotin

Just start very slowly and follow your labs. Here's what I did once my doc and I realized his regimen wasn't working for me. I tweak my vitamins every 6 months to match my labs with assistance of the vets around here and my dietitian. Here's a link to Vitalady's recommendations to get you started.
