So....I need to post this just to find out what you all would do. My husband has been the best supporter for me...taking care of me since surgery (3 weeks today). So, doorbell rings and this huge basket of Sugar Free Russell Stover's package...SF everything....chocolates, candy, etc. etc. He has the biggest heart and I KNOW he meant well....what should I do with this? I wouldn't mind trying the hard candies but scared to death about the chocolates......ya think I can freeze them for a later date so that one day I can pick one a week or something? What do I do?

The sweeteners in the chocolates will be the only thing that will bother you.  They even give normies "the runs" if too many are eaten at once.  Any sweetener that ends in -itol, is a sugar alcohol. Mannitol, xylitol, sorbitol are the big three. Enjoy in moderation.

Wow how awesome! I bet we all wish our hubbies were this thoughtful. Mine is sweet but I alway have to tell him exactly what I want or he gets overwhelmed.

What a wonderful hubby. Eat in moderation trust me to many at one time will make you run for the bathroom. They can be kept in the frige or freezer. Give hubby a big hug and kiss and have a great day. :)

Sugar doesn't bother me. I eat an Oreo, donut, Hershey kiss, etc. no problem.

He's definitely a keeper. Tell him you are only going to eat one a day to make them last. One might (or might not) be ok. Regardless, if the sugar substitute bothers you, then slowly flush them down the toilet and tell him you have ate them and really enjoyed them. Do not break the poor guy's heart! Next year before valentines day, you can tell him the truth. By then, you will be able to enjoy, obviously in moderation, the full sugar version!

That's what I would do. I couldnt bear to see my husband's disappointment. I think it would give us a good laugh later though!

The only way to know if you are affected by the sweetner in the chocolates is to try them.

I'm not bothered by any of the sweeteners, and who knows you may not be. So give on a try and if it works for you. Yummy.

If not, I would explain to hubby why he has to "help" you eat them. I would tell him why and that way he won't feel guilty from eating the candy.

How sweet!  Great hubby!

Chocolate doesn't bother me.  Too much sugar alcohols, making a run for it...

Moderation!
