I am about to have a revision from the BAD band to DS! I have not heard anything like this. In fact my surgeon said I would have a hard time NOT losing weight . That I would prolly make my goal weight of 150-170 pretty easily.

I'm RNY to DS just over two months out was at 33% loss my surgeon expects me on track at 50% by 6 months. ...15% I wouldnt have gone through the risk of a rivision if it was for 15% loss.

I'm 5 months post op revision from Band to DS. I'm 6 lbs from losing 50% of Weight needed to lose. I was considered a lightweight at surgery....BMI 43, weight 247, ht 5'3". Yes weight loss is slower for me, 2-3 lbs per week. My personal gial is 115 lbs but honestly ill be happy at my surgeons goal of 125-135 lbs (ive weighed that before for like 10 minutes). But with my DS I've lost 59lbs in 5 months without "dieting". Believe in the process of the DS.

A friend of mine had a revision from the RNY to the DS and lost over 100 lbs in 11 months. She is at her goal weight for a tummy tuck of 135 so she will lose even more once that is done. I have noticed a  lot of nutritionists have no clue about a lot of things because they have never personally experienced it and they are uninformed. Their information comes from a book. Not all are like that but quite a few. Do your own research. There is a lot of information on this board and there are a lot of experienced people with a lot of sage advice.

Good luck!

Ask your NUT for a copy of that study. She'll never find it!
