Hospital for Surgery billed insurance $112,000 paid $32,000
Surgeon billed insurance $37,000 paid ? (I don't remember)
Nurse Practitioner for the surgeon as a surgery assistant billed insurance $12,000
Anesthesia billed insurance $1700
Psych Eval was $2500
Stress Test was $4500
The insurance paid what their agreed amount for the provider. I can't remember what the surgeon got paid, the NP got around $9000 or so.
The most important Dr in the room next to the Surgeon is the Anesthesiologist. They were the cheapest.
Believe me they are very high!! I work for a major insurance company and I actually process the claims. It's the type of surgery it is, and that's why it's so much plus because of the high risks. Believe me I understand because my surgery will be in April also I believe we went through the same surgeon.
