Alcohol after DS surgery ?
I know you can't drink for several months after surgery because of the stress it adds to your liver.
My question is when you are able to have a drink again how does it affect your system ?
Does it go straight to your head and you are drunk ?
I like an occasional drink once in awhile but I don't want be acting the fool after just one margarita you know.
To be clear, it's recommended not to drink for an entire year, and YES, you're a horribly cheap drunk. You may be acting a fool BEFORE you get to the bottom of one margarita. I just drink nice and slow and ride the buzz halfway through my ****tail. While you're learning your tolerance level, always have a wingman to keep you safe and get you home.

You should not drink the entire time you are loosing weight. We usually say at least one year. Then use extreme caution. Most of us react VERY differently. Fast drunk, fast sober up. So to keep a buzz you have to drink A LOT. I've been drinking beer and I am going to stop because it could lead to drinking too much. I'm just not buying it any more.
I don't drink beer or wine. YUCKY!
I like the hard stuff lol I like vodka, brandy, whiskey, bourbon, rum :) It is a good thing I am not an alcoholic. So the main advice I can give is only on hard liquor. When I drink one drink I can start to 'feel' it. By drink two, if it is back to back, I am already a bit whoozie. I was a light weight before but nothing like this. I seriously feel it so much faster but if I drink water right after and just wait a few, I am in working condition in no time.
So drunk quick and sober quick lol
I drink a bit of Champaign once in awhile and it doesn't affect me quite as bad as the hard liquor. I can have 3 small glasses before I am whoozie.
This is just my experience and you will have to find out for yourself. Very good advice to take it slow the first time you drink and jus****ch how you react. :) Wait a year as well, it is safest for the liver as you pointed out already Good luck!
