It's a challenge and the past week or so has been a struggle but I think I have the battle plan now. I will focus on the shakes the get additional food but not worry about it of I don't. Most "real food" is unappealing anyway. So just gonna focus on the shakes and eat salad's. That will cover the protein and the complex carbs I need. Adding in some tuna or deviled chicken (yes, canned meat but at least not spam lol) so as far as lab work I don't have insurance now so I have to just let that go until I get some. The vites: I will worry when I come to that bridge, I still have some left from the original plan.

Glad you enjoyed your support group :)  You'll have to share any tips and tricks you learned.

Lesson of the day:  ALWAYS read the labels! Stopped at a gas station and grabbed an Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey that I used to drink all the time before surgery.  Once I got home (and had drank most of it) I read the label....holy carbs Batman!  If I wanted that much sugar I would have made it worth my while and ate a cupcake!

B- greek yogurt

S- green tea

L- about 1/4 of a can of chili with lots of cheese, and 5 Ritz crackers

S- adkins shake

D- will be having a few boneless buffalo wings dipped in ranch, and a small glass of 2% milk

S- going to try to get down another adkins shake.  Just not very hungry today.

Hmm...tips and tricks.  Follow Vitalady's plan and then go by your labs from there. Make sure you're getting ALL the labs run.

Great advice about reading the labels. Just because they say it's "healthy" still read the labels and look for carbs, or sugar, or gluten, or soy...whatever your problem area might be. Read the labels and make sure your protein shake is whey protein isolate first and minimum carbs.

Totally agree with all you've said, Gina. Sure wish I could come to your support group. Tried a low carb/hi protein chocolate pudding last night that I got from a barbaric store (associated with the local batiatrics practice). Not great but filling.

Finally dropped a couple of pounds!

B: bacon, 2 protein shakes
S: cheese
S: adkin's cranberry almond bar
L: (late). Egg salad, 1 slice WW bread
S: protein shake
D: (late). Shrimp ****tail cheddar biscuit

V: one batch left
F: ok
E: just work

Whatever works, right?  I'm glad you're seeing the scale drop a bit. Wish I was.
