Hunger PAIN

The last few nights, I've had really bad insomnia.  I've been waking up around 2:00 and haven't been able to get back to sleep.  During these awake times, my stomach has been growling so bad it actually hurts and makes me queasy.

Should I just get up and eat something, since I'm awake anyway?  I've tried "drowning" the problem with lots of water, but that just makes the nausea worse.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

P.S.  It's only been recently that I've started feeling hungry when it's time to eat.  I used to just have myself on a schedule.

I do the exact same thing and I eat a little something just to get me by. Those hunger pains hurt and make me queasy too!

I've known some people who woke up in the night regularly, and kept cheese sticks and water on their night stand.  I say roll with it - and the only other thing to determine is which day to count that protein for?

I start counting at midnight.  I go through about 32 ounces of water a night (insomnia, wake up ALOT) and I count that as the start of my day.

How far out are you? When I was newly post-op, I would wake up starving and sick at my stomach. I learned to eat a protein snack just before bed, and it helped tremendously. (Nine years later, I still do it. *grin*)

I'm 6 1/2 months out.  My surgeon was a little concerned about the not getting hungry thing, but it's kicked in with a vengence now.

On the plus side, it *appears* my 2 month stall is over, as I've lost 5 pounds in the last week.  I'm thinking it's because I'm actually EATING now as opposed to just drinking shakes?  Who knows.  I'll take it though!
