Insurance and out of country question

I have good insurance with BCBS and they cover about 80% of a revision. My question is, is there a reliable DR in Mexico or other that accepts US insurance? I went to Mexico for my first RNY in 2006 and have since gained due to pregnancy and other factors to where I qualify for another procedure so hoping to not wait for the hoops and hurdles here in the US lol Thanks!

My understanding is that Dr Ungson in Mexico is only revising to distal RNY or ERNY now but Dr Marchesini in Brazil is still doing RNY to DS revisions.  www.DSFACTS.com will have Dr M' contact info.

Last I knew, there was no one in Mexico doing a RNY to DS revision, and Dr. Marchesini in Brazil was also favoring a version of ERNY. Dr. Gagner in Montreal comes to mind, but experiences with him have been varied - some people very happy, others ending up with odd operations that were not what they signed up for.

I really think you would be better off to take the time to do the hoop jumping and make your way to one of the few surgeons in the USA whom you can count on do give you a proper revision to a true DS.

Never have heard of a out of country doctor accepting insurance from the US
