Sick...
Eat a clove of galic RIGHT NOW. Cut it in two and swallow like a pill. If the symptoms haven't settled in, you can ward off a cold better than Zicam. Tomorrow morning, do the same thing.
Call the doc and ask them what they think in the meantime. If you get too sick or it's an infection, they may want to reschedule. They may give you antibiotics now as a precaution, too.

Keep your nose and sinuses clear and open with Advil, or Claritin, to prevent a sinus infection. When in the shower, blow your nose, the hot steam will clear sinuses. Bend down touch your toes, does your face hurt where your sinuses are? If so, you have a sinus infection. Antibiotics would be good in this case. Clear all over the counter meds with your doctor before taking. Do you have a fever? The surgery may be postponed in this case. If you have a sore throat only in the morning, but no fever, you may have slept with your mouth open. This is not an illness. Before all of my major surgeries, and most days, I take lots of vitamin C supplements, and antioxidant supplements. I went 2 years with no colds, or flu. My husband had the flu shot this year, we both came down with the flu at the same time. I think he got the virus in the injection. His whole dept was sick wit the same symptoms at the same time. My PCP's dept also all came down with the same symptoms too. Before my plastic surgery 6 weeks ago, I felt a scratchy throat. Had hot tea every day, with brown sugar, Claritin, and Advil. This was a few days before surgery. I was fine on the surgery day. No temperature, but if you have a virus, temps can be lower than usual. Mine was a bit low, by 2-3 points. The nurse didn't say anything about a low temp. I was very cold, nervous about the surgery. Benedril helps open nasal airways too, but makes me too sleepy, I take it only at bed time. Hope you get better soon and surgery goes as planned.
