6 mo Surgiversary

Yesterday, it was 6 months since this life changing surgery. I have lost a total of 132lbs which has exceeded my expectations. I am happy with my weight loss. My hair loss has really bothered me. I always had beautiful long curly hair thick overall with fine strands. Now, I have very very thin hair. The good thing is that my bald spots are growing in new hair (Yes, I found a product which works for me and is helping the regrowth). Plus, I take 10000 mg of Biotin as well as Horsetail daily. I am waiting until May to have color put on due to the dryness of my hair.
This is very funny to me. My PCP said to me a couple of weeks ago, you look really good, I don't think you need to lose anymore weight. He said start eating carbs. I looked at him. I said, I didn't do this to have chunky legs. I want skinny legs. He laughed.
I have had a lot of issues. Seems like a lot more than the average person that has this surgery. I deal with them as they come along. My cardiologist says that in another 6 months my body will accept the surgery and hopefully settle down.
My 6mo labs came back OK overall. I up'd my Vit D & K. I started Upcal D yesterday, will try it for a month and see.
I wish that I would have my Energizer Bunny back. I think my boss does at work too. She said "You used to sparkle, since the surgery, you are always tired" I hope at some point I will have that sparkle again, not just a moment here and there.
I only thought I knew what dry skin was before surgery... OH MY! I have a handle on it now.
Strange thing is... I could eat a lot more food before Christmas than I can now. Seems odd to me. My understanding is YMMMV and we have cycles with food. Currently I could care less about food except raw tuna (could eat it all the time). I have found creative ways to add protein to food . I was the cheese lover before surgery, now it's odd, some cheese causes me all kinds of issues. I think I have become LI.
My poop doesn't stink as bad anymore. I have no clue why. 2 Probiotics vs one perhaps?
I'm happy with my weight loss. That's the bottom line.
As frustrated as I have been. I have a good friend who had the band done in 2007, never lost more than 20lbs. She is going to have it removed this year. She is larger than ever. She is considering this surgery. I told her if she is going to do one, this is the one to do, not the RNY. So, I do believe in the surgery. I am just frustrated with my continual issues/problems and no energy. My Thyroid is Ok. At some point, will have iron infusions but it's not low currently.
I want you all to know how much I appreciate the help & friendship from this board. You all have been part of my journey. I appreciate each and every one of you.
Many blessings!
Congrats on your journey thus far. I hope you get some energy back soon. ;)
